Covid-19 Cancellation Policy

Covid-19 Cancellation Policy

In these uncertain times, we understand that many people are hesitant to reserve their student accommodation for the next academic year, so to assist you in making the decision and to offer some peace of mind Unity Square have made allowances outside of our normal cancellation policy to protect you and offer more flexibility on bookings made for September 2022 if any of the following apply:

Your course start date is delayed:

We will amend the start date of your tenancy agreement to the beginning of the month that your course will commence. We must receive at least 7 days notice before your original start date and supporting evidence from the University that your course is delayed otherwise you will be bound by the terms set out in the agreement and liable for all associated with the tenancy.

Please note this is also applicable if  The World Health Organisation recommendations and decisions regarding Coronavirus advise that you do not travel.

No Place No Stay Policy

If you are a 1st-year undergraduate student and your application to your preferred University is rejected, we will be able to release you from the tenancy agreement if you provide a written letter from the university confirming that you were not accepted to study and we receive the cancellation request within 7 days of you receiving your results.

Deferments:

Should you choose to defer your studies until September 2023 we will transfer your booking to the next academic year at no charge (please note that you must provide proof of deferment and at least 1 months’ notice from the original start date of your tenancy agreement.)

General Notes:

  • If your Visa processing is delayed then our standard cancellation policy will apply
  • If you decide to stay at another accommodation, we can release you from your contract if you find a suitable replacement to take over your tenancy. (Please note a £150 administration fee will apply)
  • Once you have moved into the building (or your tenancy start date has passed and you have chosen not to check-in) and you have not advised us of your plans if the University you are attending moves to Online Learning you will be bound by the terms set out within your contract and liable for all costs associated with the tenancy.
